Okay so, we (kelly, kathy and I) had our meeting at city hall this morning with Patti and things have changed. Due to the fact that Wiget is a fire hazard waiting to happened, (under the advice of Patti Papa) we changing the location to the Defilipo Park on Prince st. I will be uploading pictures of it soon. At first I was pretty bummed out about the location change but after we went there to scope it out I am actually really excited about it. The park is huge and we are going to be able to accept so many more pieces than before when we were limited to wiget st.

ALSO—- we are hosting a fundraiser on May 16th…DODGEBALL TOURNAMENT at the park. check out the facebook event for more details.

Alright. It’s 2:42 am and I just finished modifying this…thing. I hope you all enjoy it…anyone recognize the header picture, eh eh? So let’s see, tomorrow I am meeting with two cousins of mine that I believe are good artists. Yes Alicia, I am going to pitch the entire thing to them and get them to come into the city for dinner with us soon, I promise. I’m also going to be talking to another cousin’s husband who recently opened a photography studio in downtown Lynn about publicizing the event for us. I figure if we can reach all the way out to Lynn, we’re bound to gather some sort of crowd. Apparently coming home for this ridiculous holiday is worth something. Well that, and I get to eat pounds of ham tomorrow. LBS of ham. LLLLBBBBSSSSS. Goodnight all.

So, I got the idea for this project one day when Amanda decided to give me a sneak peak into Anne’s closet where she was hiding some of her amazing paintings. I was blown away by her talent but also by the fact that no one was able to see her artwork. That brought up the topic of untapped creativity and how we have no outlets to create and inspire… blah blah blah. (dont kill me Amanda)

So the concept for Exposure Arts was consummated during that conversation on that lovely afternoon but it wasn’t until a week later that we actually came up with the idea to host an outdoor gallery on our little alley of a street.

Our short term goal is to host an outdoor public art exhibit on Wiget St on June 13th, 2009. Our blog will document our progress as we receive the necessary permits to close down the st, sign on new artists, collect art, and all of the problems that come our way.
